Navigating our shared past

For 25 years, Going West recorded broadcast-quality audio at all of our festival sessions. There are also 25 years of programmes, photographs and ephemera that read like a map of the culture that was Waitākere City; liberal, rich in the arts, boosted by the Bob Harvey factor, an Eco-City years ahead of its time. This has all been held safely by Auckland Libraries.

Now, with partnership funding from the Auckland Library Heritage Trust and Lotteries Heritage, we have an archivist seeking to navigate it all. They will search, order and shape an online presence for the Going West archive on KURA Heritage Collections Online. We can’t wait to see this project unfold.
