An original spoken and lyrical word competition for youth
Entry by koha
Word Up! is an exciting performance competition which gives 13–21 year-olds the opportunity to present their original work: from rap, poetry and spoken word to song lyrics and even stand-up comedy. Registered participants will be invited to attend an informal audition and workshop process with a professional spoken word or music artist. Those selected will qualify to take part in our Grand Finale which is an evening of original word-based performance by the young people who made it to this stage. Being part of the audience to watch these young singer-songwriters, poets and rappers present original work is always a moving and eye-opening experience.
