The Sir James Wallace Master of Creative Writing Prize is awarded to the student in the Master of Creative Writing degree at the University of Auckland who completes the year’s best manuscript. The 2017 winner Amy McDaid will read from her prize-winning manuscript.
Amy McDaid has a Master of Creative Writing from the University of Auckland. The draft of her first novel Wind Air Sky Guy won the Sir James Wallace Prize in 2017, New Zealand’s richest prize for a creative writing student. She lives in Titirangi, and while not writing, works part-time as a newborn intensive care nurse.
